Of the four known postcards with this photograph, this one has the earliest postmark date. The card is published by W. H. Torry, and the title is done in Will's unusual back handed writing. It is therefore reasonable to believe that Will Torry was likely the photographer.

The card was addressed to Miss Dot Wright, Pictou, NS. The sender writes: "Something's busted in my eyes. I'll have a little fun with it yet. I'll write you some time soon. Not allowed to read or write yet. I gave R_ your message. He'll act on it. Mary."

There were at least 2 print runs for this card. I had a double of this card, that had darker more burgundy coloured ink, but I did not keep that card as it had no postmark.

Trust Santa was as good to you as you all were to me. Wishing you a very Happy New Year. I am yours lovingly. L.L."

I believe there is a good possibility that a member of the Torry family may have provided the original photograph for this postcard. This is the only known postcard with this view of a larger group of men and women, and the Torry's published the card and used their Belgian printer (a printing company that none of their competitors seem to have used).

Addressed to Mrs. M. Gauvreau, 479 Laurier Ave. W., Ottawa, Ont. Writer notes the date as Wed., Oct 28/36 PM, with a return address of Box 196, New Glasgow. The sender writes that they "Have not done any moose hunting down here yet and the season comes to a close on the 30th. Will be leaving here at 7:25 am Friday and arriving in Ottawa about the same time Sat. night. J. W. is definitely expected back this evening. Have not heard from Borden lately. Weather still cool. Leo"
