The War Memorials in Canada website at http://cdli.ca/monuments/ns/pictou.htm has the following notes: "The Pictou County War Memorial was formally unveiled on the 11th day of July 1935 at 2:30 p.m. Every year, on the first Sunday of November, there is a memorial service held with the participation of all veterans, veteran organizations, youth groups, service clubs, pipe bands, etc. There is also a D-day service by the Overseas Veterans Association each year. Upkeep is provided by the county council and RCL Branch #16, Pictou."

The back of the postcard reads "My brother Rex Corkum unvailed this when he was in cubs." I have been involved in geneology for many years and I know how small things such as this note on the back of a postcard, can be important to the family. If anyone knows a member of Rex Corkum's family would you kindly email me. Life has some odd ways of getting things back into the right hands and as others have done for me, I am hoping I can return this card to the family if they want it.

Mailed by Gwendolyn Miller(?) to Mrs Jennie A. Rose, Greymon, Okla., USA, the sender mentions her salt and pepper shaker collection and talks about sending pencils to Mrs. Rose, perhaps for a collection as well?

The printing on this postcard is unusually good quality for a Peco card and a great amount of detail can be seen.
